October 5, 2019Cargo Shipping
Since cargo service has come into our lives, it’s become easier for people to send and receive goods from one place to another. Cargo containers is one of the main reasons for the development of the business world. Every day, numerous shipments reach their destinations and are introduced into the local market. But apart from the business aspect, a cargo service is also great for sending and receiving big or small items for personal use. However, there are some goods which are prohibited to be shipped, such as weapons and poisons. Every international shipping company must obey shipping laws. If you want to know what items you can ship in cargo containers, read the list below
Alcohol
Not every company allows you to send alcohol because it’s restricted in some countries. However, you can send as a distributor or a manufacturer by signing the “Alcohol Shipping Agreement”. It’s important to keep in mind that if you or the recipient isn’t a licensed dealer, then you cannot ship alcohol at all. So it is compulsory that both – the consignor and consignee – are licensed.
Antiques, Art, and Furniture
Through cargo, you are allowed to send works of art, antiques, and collectible objects of considerable age or high value, but again, you are bounded by a few restrictions. So, if you want to ship antiques, artwork, collectibles, figurines, memorabilia, sculptures or paintings, then make sure that their value is not more than $5000 (USD). Also, you’re allowed to ship your furniture to your desired destination.
Cell Phone
Any mobile phone, a portable telephone or a smartphone, which needs wireless cellular technology to receive or send data, such as phone signals, are allowed to be shipped in a cargo container. But you have to make sure that these items are specially packed.
E-Juice
Vaping has become quite a trend nowadays. People are attracted to e-cigarettes and other electronic devices as an alternative to smoking. E-juice or e-liquids are required to add flavor to these devices, which ultimately gives pleasure to the smoker. These liquids are allowed to be shipped, but only if they contain 0.0% nicotine, or else they are prohibited.
Lithium Batteries
Lithium Polymer, Lithium-Ion and Lithium metal batteries are allowed for cargo shipping but they should be packed with the product. So, if you want to ship lithium batteries, then make sure you send them along with the laptop or mobile phone, otherwise, they are outlawed.
Non-Perishable Food
You can ship non-perishable food in cargo if:
- The food items have 6 months left for expiry
- The food is unopened and available in its original packing
- The packing has a label on it with a list of ingredients
- The food has a visible “best before date” displayed
Every country has its own shipping policies, but the above-mentioned items can be sent to most countries; however, they must be according to the law. So, if you want to ship any good to your family members, friends or a loved one, then make sure you strictly follow the shipping policies or else your items will be rejected.
